“Jerry Day is an event where you can still get a taste of what made San Francisco the place to be in the 60’s. The magic that Jerry Garcia shared with the world is still making waves! Thanks to My fathers fans and so many volunteers for making the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater ring with joy every year.” - Trixie Garcia

Volunteer Opportunities
Donation Collections
The majority of our volunteers will be assigned to a Donations Collections shift during the concert. Collections are done in pairs who are assigned to either a stationary or roaming position. If you would like to volunteer with a friend or family member please specify their name in the comments section of your registration form and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Promotions / Street Team
Help us get the word out about Jerry Day by signposting concerts, local businesses and in high traffic areas near the park. Volunteers will need access to a camera phone or camera to photograph their work. These shifts are perfect for friendly and active people who have time to complete their shift by July 31st.
Set-Up / Breakdown
If you are looking for an active shift and aren’t afraid of some possible heavy lifting we would love your help with either Set-up or Breakdown. Responsibilities include the setup or breakdown of pop up tents, tables, chairs and signage.
Usher
This position is perfect for social butterflies with strong communication skills or experience working in security or customer service. Responsibilities include greeting and directing guests to event amenities as well as checking wristbands in the Friends and Family section of the amphitheater (applicants must be comfortable climbing stairs).
Leave No Trace Crew
Help keep the park clean and promote responsible recreation and environmental stewardship by picking up trash and educating fans about proper recycling, compost, and waste disposal.
Production / Office Support
Limited amount of pre show and event day shifts available. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are interested in concert / event production. Event day volunteers will be working directly with staff to help with day of production needs. Responsibilities could include shadowing / assisting the Event Producer or helping at the volunteer check in table. Pre production volunteers may be needed to help at pop up events leading up to Jerry Day.
